Weight Loss Myths Vancouver

Isn’t it tiring to browse, get tons of reviews from friends and family? Truths and fiction abound regarding weight loss, making it hard for people to discern. However, British Columbia’s reputation is not without serious flaws. For instance, it is often called one of the healthiest provinces of Canada, but data from local health authorities show some areas are healthier than others. Lower Mainland residents who live farther from the city center are more likely to be obese.

Dieting but not losing weight?

Weight loss is tainted by many myths and lies that make it difficult to reach and maintain a healthy weight. Some of our professional staff encounter misconceptions and myths in their everyday endeavours with people trying to lose weight, and believe misconceptions have the potential to adversely affect their efforts.

During our team meeting last week, we gathered some facts and mostly common weight loss myths in Vancouver. As it came from one of you, you may not be totally surprised.

  • Say no to Carbohydrates

In general, carbohydrates are regarded as fattening, but this isn’t necessarily true – although too much carb consumption can be fattening as well as too much protein, fat, or alcohol consumption. Sugars and starches are carbohydrate compounds found naturally in cereals, vegetables and fruits. You body relies on them to produce energy, as well as your brain.

  • Fats are redflag.

There is no word deadlier than “fat” in the world of well-being. It’s true, isn’t it? Fat is widely associated with heart disease, but not many people know the actual facts about fats. Harvard studies found that people take words too seriously and stop consuming healthy fats like olive oil and canola oil. Fats have different properties. Monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fatty acids contain a number of health benefits. Fish, nuts, and seeds contain essential fatty acids because they can’t be synthesized by the human body. Trans and saturated fats, on the other hand, are bad for you and cause heart disease.

  • No more chocolate & ice-cream

Due to our smoother weight loss program, a majority of our valued customers are extremely satisfied with our ideal protein protocol and weight loss program. Losing weight by depriving yourself of pleasurable foods is often a recipe for failure; when you don’t have them, you begin to obsess about them and crave them more.

  • Diet is less important than exercise

Increasing exercise alone may not be enough to lose weight significantly. Keeping muscle mass and burning energy requires reducing calorie intake while increasing activity to lose weight. Weight loss requires a combination of healthy eating and physical activity – in other words, eating less and exercising more.

  • Let’s count stars not calories

It is very distracting to take things too religiously and loses our interest in any topics when we take them too seriously. Let’s say that you plan to eat 1500 calories a day, and somehow it’s summer and you’re hanging out with your friends in Kelwona, but you eat an amazing steak outside of the beach. Counting calories too much will make you lose interest. Let’s stop doing it. Counting stars helps you lose weight, so you should be sleeping to stay slim.
