How does the Ideal Protein Protocol work?

Based on your unique health profile and body type, the three phases of the Ideal Protein Protocol are designed to help you achieve and maintain your weight loss goals. During the Weight Loss Phase, we restrict carb intake so the body can go into “ketosis” (a completely natural and safe process) and burn its fat stores for energy. With Ideal Protein’s delicious snacks and meals, reaching your goal weight will be easy. You’ll sustain muscle mass, develop smart eating habits and learn how to make healthy lifestyle choices that are like second-nature to you, so you can maintain your weight loss long-term.

How much does Ideal Protein cost?

The cost of Ideal Protein in North America averages about $15/day, including the cost of food and supplements. We recommend that you redirect this cost as part of your grocery shopping expenses, as the healthier food choices Ideal Protein offers replace old, unhealthy eating habits. Because your meals will be provided, this Protocol essentially breaks even and becomes neutral in cost. I’m Vegan/Vegetarian, will this protocol work for me?

The Ideal Protein Weight Loss Protocol can work for vegetarians as they may consume eggs, fish or tofu instead of meat for their whole protein. As a whole protein alternative, Vegetarians can also have two Ideal Protein foods for dinner. If you have allergies or other dietary restrictions, please review the ingredients list on all Ideal Protein meal boxes prior to purchasing and beginning your journey. 

On the other hand, vegans who do not consume any animal by-products like dairy, meat, honey, eggs, mayonnaise etc… are not ideal candidates for the Ideal Protein Weight Loss Protocol due to too many dietary restrictions.

Where can I buy/begin the Ideal Protein diet?

The Ideal Protein Weight Loss Protocol and its products can only be purchased and started at an authorized centre or clinic. Our clinic is an authorized Ideal Protein Protocol provider. To schedule a consultation, purchase or find out if you qualify, please get in touch with us.

I have an underlying/chronic health condition, is this protocol safe for me?

We strongly recommend that anyone with an underlying or chronic health condition seek the medical advice of their family doctor/healthcare practitioner.

How is Ideal Protein different from other protein-based diets?

The Ideal Protein Weight Loss Protocol gets to the root of the weight issue by reducing carbs and fats and ensuring sufficient protein intake. With this protocol, you lose fat instead of muscle. Can I do the protocol with health issues?

The Ideal Protein Protocol is safe for almost everyone, however, some individuals should refrain. Those with dysfunctional liver or kidneys are advised not to start this diet. For women who are breastfeeding and those with type I diabetes, there is an alternative protocol and only the Ideal Protein food products should be used to supplement their diets. If you suffer from other health issues that you are concerned about, please consult with your physician first, before visiting our weight loss clinic in Vancouver.

Are there any side effects?

Just as with any change in diet or eating routine, the initial phase of Ideal Protein can cause feelings of hunger, fatigue or general discomfort. For those with sugar addictions or past diets high in processed foods, sweets or processed carbohydrates, withdrawal symptoms and heightened cravings are normal. Your Ideal Protein coach is always there to support you when you reach a roadblock.

I have dietary restrictions and/or allergies. Can I still do the diet?

The Ideal Protein Protocol offered at our weight loss clinic in Vancouver can accommodate vegetarians and those with lactose, gluten and soy allergies. The protocol, unfortunately, cannot accommodate vegans. Please inform us if you have any other food allergies or food sensitivities prior to starting.

 

The Ideal Protein Protocol is over. What now?

Congratulations! This means that you’ve reached your weight loss goals and are now armed with a wealth of knowledge to move forward. You’ll know how your body burns fat, how weight loss works and you’ll have a forever-changed, healthy relationship with food. Once the protocol is over, we will slowly reintroduce restricted foods back into your diet in a way that helps you maintain your results and follow your new lifestyle. Whenever you have questions, you’ll still have the support and guidance of your personal coach at our weight loss clinic in Vancouver.

Do I have to exercise on this diet?

Exercise is not recommended during Phase 1 as your body is still adjusting to its new metabolic processes. Exercising during Phase 1 can also cause muscle loss. During these first three weeks of Phase 1, your body is learning to burn fat instead of carb stores for energy. After Phase 1, low-impact exercise is recommended.

How long is the program?

There is no set duration for the protocol as your weight loss goals and how well you stay on track are all up to you. Everyone’s body is different which is why our coaches will tailor the Ideal Protein Protocol to you, your health status, age, and other important factors.
